Camp compass volunteers
As we go into this event, remember that we will have a huge number of children who have perhaps never heard the gospel. Letβs use Camp Compass to pour into each child that God brings our way!
βHe who does a work for himself, may do it as he pleases; but he who is laboring for another, must take care to please his master. He who is employed by a king must beware of how he performs his duty; but he who laborers for God must tremble for fear if he does his work poorly. Remember that that we are laboring for God, if we are what we profess to be.β
~Charles H. Spurgeon

Non-Negotiables
All interaction with children should be in the presence of another team member. No team member is to be alone with a child.
Limit physical contact to high fives or "knuckles". No tickling, hugging or kissing is allowed.
Children are not to be allowed to sit in men's laps.
Male KIDS Ministry Team Members are not permitted to take children into the restroom.
Kids Ministry volunteers should never take one child to the restroom at a time.
Failure to follow these policies will result in immediate removal from the Kids Ministry program at a minimum
Check-In/ Out Policies
Children may only be picked up by a parent or adult in our system as a trusted contact that has a tag with the same alpha-numeric code that the child has.
If an adult has lost their tag, they must be directed to the Grade Level Lead where a staff member will ask for their photo ID.
If they are properly identified and in Planning Center, the staff member who verified their identity will escort them to each childβs classroom and inform that classroomβs teacher.
If they do not have an ID or a picture of an ID matching the contact in Planning Center, they may not withdraw the child from the classroom.
The Team Leads must check all of the tags for parents checking out more than one child.
Bathroom Policies
Kids Ministry volunteers should never take one child to the restroom at a time.
Children may use the bathroom according to their gender.
Male Kids Ministry Volunteers are not permitted to take children to the restroom.
Female junior helpers may take K-2nd graders to the bathroom if they are in 6th grade or older.
Female junior helpers may take 3rd-5th graders to the bathroom if they are in 9th grade or older.
Junior helpers should be reminded of the policies prior to taking the students to the restroom.
For Infants- 3βs parents may request that no one but themselves change diapers.
Parents are not permitted to enter the classroom to change diapers.
Behavior Policies
If a child is refusing to listen to the teacher and obey, when told what to do:
A ministry coordinator or the Kids Ministry Director will be contacted so that they may attempt to speak to the child.
If the student is still not obeying, or is being disruptive to the classroom, the parent will be informed via Planning Center.
This will occur as often as the child is refusing to obey or is causing disruption.
If a student causes physical harm (biting, scratching, etc.) the following will occur:
The parents of the student who was hurt will be called first to assess the situation.
A Staff member will speak to that parent to allow them to express their thoughts on the matter.
The parent of the student who caused harm will be called last to be made aware of the situation
A staff member will speak to the parent and allow them to discipline or interact with their child as they see fit.
This procedure will only happen once before the parents are asked to remove their child from the classroom for the day.
