Sunday Mornings at Compass
Compass Classroom exists to equip the body of Christ to reach, teach, and train others to the glory of God.
Compass Classroom classes are additional opportunities for instruction in God’s Word each Sunday, functioning like an “Equipping Hour” or “Adult Sunday School.” They are free to attend, topical in nature, and interactive with the teacher and with table discussions.
the four paths
Four paths of study are designed to teach and train both heart and mind in a cumulative fashion. Follow one path until completion of Core classes, or mix and match as fits your interest and availability.

A.W. Tozer said, “What comes into our minds when we think about God is the most important thing about us.” Knowledge of God and His ways are foundational to growing in our walk with Him. We provide classes that study in depth the full breadth of God’s revelation in the Scriptures.

We know from 2 Timothy 3:16-17 that God has spoken, breathing His Word through the authors of Scripture so that we might hear from Him and be equipped to live a mature Christian life. We provide classes that systematically study the biblical books so that everyone will be equipped for every good work.

There are skills that every Christian should master so they will be most useful to the Lord. We provide classes to show us how to practically apply Scripture to the daily areas of life, including topics such as marriage, parenting, financial stewardship, etc.

The church will run at full strength when the body is well-trained in ministry. Ephesians 4:12 explains it is the saints who do “the work of ministry,” and this “builds up” the body of Christ. Our 8th Distinctive is, “We will always be working to plant new churches,” which means we always need to train congregants for biblical Christian leadership.

The doctrine of man
Time: 8:15 am
Begins: September 6 (6-week class)
Location: Heritage Room
Teacher: Pastor Stephen Duwe
God made us in his image, after his likeness. But what does that mean, and how should it affect us today? For 6 weeks, we'll consider personhood in depth, including our design and roles as male and female, how that all plays out in ethnicity, culture, government, and in either singleness or marriage. We'll also consider man's free will and man's corruption. "What is man that You are mindful of him?" Join us to find out!
The Christian & Technology
Time: 10 am
Begins: September 6 (9-week class)

Teacher: Pastor Stephen Duwe
Do you grapple with what is a wise and healthy tech use for the Christian? This 9-week class will help you perceive God’s implementation of human flourishing through technology and its very good uses, as well as the inherent dangers of technology throughout time and today. We will apply biblical principles with wisdom to the variety of technologies that we use daily in order to live a life pleasing to God. We'll also look to the future, and how to handle new tech developments. Plus one class on having a tech-wise family.

Ministry Track for men
Teacher: Pastor Ben Blakey
Days: Saturdays
Time: 7am-9am
Frequency: Once per month
Location: Heritage Room
The Ministry Track for Men of Compass Classroom is an intense training program for men who desire to be leaders in the church. Whether pursuing full-time ministry or seeking to improve your current service, this set of courses is designed to strengthen and sharpen you for greater service to the Lord. Over the course of two years, we will cover the topics of Character, Theology, Leadership, and Teaching.
This track is organized in 4-month semesters and can be joined at the beginning of any semester (September and January).
An application and interview with a pastor is required to join this program. Must have completed the Partners program prior to beginning.
Biblical Counseling Fundamentals track
Teacher: Pastor Charlie Matz
Days: Sundays
Time: 11:45-1:15pm
Frequency: Weekly (for 30 weeks)
Location: Heritage Room
This training track will equip individuals to counsel others at Compass with the Word of God. The material will explore the most critical doctrines and practices associated with Biblical Counseling. This training will be accomplished through 30 hours of class time and assignments completed throughout the track. By taking this course, there is no guarantee that the student will be assigned counseling cases at CBCTV; however, the goal is to equip each student to do so.
Our current class begins September 6, 2026. No late additions accepted.
