Sunday Mornings at Compass
Compass Classroom exists to equip the body of Christ to reach, teach, and train others to the glory of God.
Compass Classroom classes are additional opportunities for instruction in God’s Word. We invite everyone to attend a class each Sunday morning at Compass. They are free to attend, topical in nature, and function more like an interactive lecture than a traditional Sunday sermon.
Four paths of study are designed to teach and train both heart and mind in a cumulative fashion. Follow one path until completion of Core classes, or mix and match as fits your interest and availability.

HOW TO counsel yourself
Time: 8:35am (6 weeks)
Location: Heritage Room
Teacher: Pastor Charlie Matz
Everyone in the church will suffer, go through trials, and battle to overcome sin. So we must ask ourselves, “Do we have the resources to counsel ourselves through suffering and sin?” On the one hand, we need others to come alongside us to admonish, pray, and teach. On the other hand, we have been given everything we need in God’s Word. Although we need to rely on the body of Christ, we also need to develop the skill of counseling ourselves with biblical wisdom. This class will provide the foundation for self-counsel; equipping you with the biblical means to navigate sin and suffering by developing a well-tuned and disciplined thought life.
BIBLICAL Missions
Time: 10:35am (7 weeks)
Location: Heritage Room
Teacher: Pastor Stephen Duwe
What is the grand mission of the Church? And how does God expect the church to see it through? In “Biblical Missions,” we’ll explore the missional nature of God, the history of missions and mission movements, the Bible’s expectations on churches to reach the unreached today, and how Compass as a church body and you as an individual can be engaged in God’s grand mission. We'll also hear firsthand from some former frontline missionaries and talk practically about developing our church's missions engagement.
Old Testament: the prophets
Time: 10:35am (7 weeks)
Location: Boiler Room
Teacher: Tyler Sanborn
Join us for a survey of the prophetic books in the Old Testament. We’ll take an in-depth look at the historical background, main message and key themes of the Major Prophets: Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel. And we’ll spend some time on the particulars and main points of each of the 12 Minor Prophets, comprised of Hosea through Malachi. Throughout, we’ll see a number of prophecies that point to Christ and how they were fulfilled, plus numerous end-times prophecies that are still awaiting fulfillment. Together we’ll see how God's judgment, mercy, and hope are promised and delivered to His creation.
