Welcome!

We are so glad you joined us today! If you are new, please stop by the Compass Connect table. We would love to meet you. Our mission at Compass Bible Church is to reach, teach, and train as many people as possible to be followers of Jesus Christ. We do this by seeking the direction of God’s Word together as a community. It is our prayer that your time here will result in you being drawn nearer to God, deeper into the Bible, and closer to other believers! We hope to see you again next Sunday!

-Pastor Ben Blakey

Join our church and read the Bible daily! Each day we read through passages from the Old and New Testament. As a companion to the reading plan, we’ve created a daily devotional podcast designed to help more people get into God’s Word and get more out of the Word. You can subscribe to the “Revival from the Bible” podcast wherever you listen to podcasts.

Ponder the Prince of Peace

a devotional by pastor johnny

Celebrating the birth of the Prince of Peace can often feel anything but peaceful. Family gatherings can resurface old conflicts with volcanic intensity. Standing on the precipice of 2026 can evoke anxiety as you stare into the uncertain, unknown future. Financial strain, the hurry of the season, and other burdens you shoulder may leave you longing for a “silent night” and “heavenly peace.”

Peace can be found—even in the midst of unrest. But how? When our Savior was born, the angelic host told the news to shepherds and praised God, saying, “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among those with whom he is pleased” (Luke 2:14). When the shepherds shared the angels’ words with Mary, “Mary treasured up all these things, pondering them in her heart” (Luke 2:19). As you navigate the Christmas season, take intentional moments to stop. Turn off the music, the screens, the distractions. Reflect deeply on what it means that your Messiah has come. In Christ, God is pleased with you. Because you are in the Son, you are at peace with God.

The Christmas season brings many opportunities for unrest. As believers, we must fight against this. Ponder the Prince of Peace who paid your debt, reconciled you to God, and made you acceptable before him.
