Jr High Director

 This role provides direction and oversight for Middle School Ministry (6th–8th grade), leading students toward spiritual maturity through faithful teaching, discipleship, worship, fellowship, and engaging biblical community. This ministry is designed to supplement, not replace, discipleship happening in the home—therefore, strong partnership with parents and clear communication are essential. . This role also participates in general pastoral care, biblical counseling, and church‑wide ministry. 

 Ministry Leadership & Weekly Gatherings 

  • Lead the weekly middle school ministry service (worship, preaching, small groups). 

  • Teach Scripture faithfully and clearly, applying it to the life of a middle school student. 

  • Ensure small groups are facilitated biblically, led faithfully, and discipleship-focused. 

Partnering with Parents 

  • Partner with parents as the primary disciplers of their students. 

  • Communicate consistently, clearly, and helpfully with parents regarding ministry events, teaching emphasis, and student care. 

  • Provide counsel, encouragement, and biblical guidance to parents navigating challenges. 

Student Discipleship & Care 

  • Lead and model discipleship with students. 

  • Provide biblical counseling and pastoral care for students when needed. 

  • Cultivate a ministry marked by a love for God, His Word, and His people. 

Leader Development 

  • Recruit, train, shepherd, and encourage middle school ministry volunteer leaders. 

  • Equip leaders to disciple and lead students with consistency and biblical conviction. 

Retreats, Camps, and Events 

  • Plan and lead the Middle School Winter Retreat. 

  • Work with the Student Ministry Team to plan and execute Ignite Summer Camp. 

  • Plan approximately six (6) large events throughout the year that support connection, outreach, and discipleship. 

Communication & Administration 

  • Communicate effectively with parents, leaders, and students—in tone and frequency. 

  • Coordinate schedules, logistics, calendaring, and ministry communication. 

Qualifications & Ministry Profile 

  • A clear testimony of faith in Jesus Christ and a life marked by repentance and obedience. 

  • Meets the biblical qualifications for pastor/deacon as described in 1 Timothy 3/Titus 1. 

  • Vocational ministry experience, preferably with teenagers. 

  • Demonstrated skill in biblical counseling. 

  • Strength in one-on-one discipleship and leading group Bible studies. 

  • Able to teach the Scriptures with clarity, faithfulness, and a shepherd’s heart. 

  • A humble, teachable spirit and a pattern of servant-hearted leadership. 

  • Alignment with CBCTV’s doctrinal statement and joy in our 8 distinctives. 

  • Conviction that God grows His church through the faithful teaching of His Word. 

  • Theological alignment with complementarian, cessationist, dispensational, and futurist premillennial convictions.
