God’s Name-YHWH

Day 1 of Camp Compass, the campers will learn that God is the great I AM. He is the one that created everyone and everything and does not need anything or anyone to exist.

Verse to memorize: “God said to Moses, ‘I am Who I am.’ And he said, ‘Say this to the people of Israel: I am has sent me to you.’”

Exodus 3:14

Brother Andrew’s life as a young boy growing up in Sint Pancras, Holland. War comes to Sint Pancras and when Andrew is 17 he joins the army and goes to Indonesia. Andrew has a bullet go through the ankle that takes him out of the war. While recovering in the hospital, Andrew begins to read the Bible and asks myriads of questions to Thile through letters. He returns home to a veterans hospital and a chain of events that lead to his salvation!

Camp Compass kids have been challenged to raise money this week so that we can help fund a school for persecuted children in Pakistan. Last year we were able to send Bibles to the children in Pakistan and they were very grateful for our contribution.

Get creative kids! Some of our kids in the past have found chores around the house, sold their toys or put together a lemonade/bakery stand. Money needs to be in by Friday so we can send it to the Pastor in Pakistan.

Day 1: The Letters and The Mountain Pass
Name of God: YHWH – The Great I Am
Scripture: Exodus 3:14 – “God said to Moses, ‘I AM WHO I AM.’ … ‘I AM has sent me to you.’”
What We Learned:
John and Sarah began their journey when they received mysterious letters from their uncle. These letters led them to a great mountain. Along the way, they learned that God is the Great I Am—always present, never changing, and always with us no matter what. This gave them courage to begin their adventure.

“YHWH is the Great I Am. He is always with me.”
